Important Update for Sundance Lakes Guests: Recovery Efforts Post-Hurricanes
Dear Guests,
Now that the dust from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton has begun to settle, it’s important to know that Wilder RV Resorts has started the process of bringing Sundance Lakes back to being one of the best RV resorts in Florida.
In less than three weeks, Sundance has sustained significant damage from nearly direct hits by both category three and four hurricanes. Heavy winds caused substantial damage, but the more serious destruction has been due to Gulf storm surge and flooding.
As of today, utilities like water and sewer have been safely brought back online. However, power has not been restored throughout the entirety of the park. Several power distribution points have been red-tagged by authorities due to flood damage. Currently, only a few dozen sites and the clubhouse have power. The clubhouse is open, and the office is staffed. Internet and phone services have not yet returned.
Wilder has begun working with utility contractors to bring power services online. However, as the hurricanes have left millions of Americans throughout the Southwest without power, materials like electrical components are in high demand and some are unavailable. Immediately after Helene, Wilder began working to source the necessary materials. We are doing everything we can to restore electrical services as soon as possible.
For over forty years, guests have enjoyed building friendships and memories while living the RV lifestyle at Sundance Lakes. There’s a lot of work to do, but the cleanup and rebuilding of the park has begun. Sundance Lakes will survive these storms and once again be one of the best RV parks in the Sunshine State.
We ask for your patience and understanding. Not only are you and your neighbors in Sundance experiencing the effects of these two storms, but so are the Sundance Lakes managers, staff, and surrounding Pasco County residents.
Until power is restored, Sundance Lakes will be closed to short-stay transient reservations.
If you have any questions, please reach out to our corporate office, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
Escape to the laid-back lifestyle of Sundance Lakes on Florida's Gulf Coast. Sparkling lakes, a refreshing pool, and vibrant community welcome you for a quick getaway or a seasonal haven.
